Trouble my old clinic cat! |
He was such a cuddler, and used to chase balls like a dog. Aaron and David used to come to my work just to visit Trouble.
Tear~... LOL
It's been a long time since I have been in the blogger world, so I am going to start again.
I want to start with saying I have been feeling very blessed. God has been changing things in my life, and giving me wonderful insights into my life!

hey guys, man it's been way to long... i have not been able to get to the email for any long amount of time... so this will be brief... outreach is going very well, with minor upsets (such as a fight breaking out and the teacher going away with a fractured rib)... he is fine now... but the Forgiveness program is going really well, and the students look forward to us coming back every week... we have been doing dramas that we make up, telling stories, and playing simpsons clips, that tie into the point we are making... we are surprised at how well we are taking to making up curriculum and how well we run classes... it has been an amazing time so far, and i cant wait for more... love you lots shannon ; )

March 25/07 UPDATE!!!
hey everybody... i hope life is going well for everyone, especially for our new moms at church... congrats Michelle, and Wendy... im soo happy for you!!!
well hello, another month has come, and is almost gone... life here has been amazing... our speakers have been giving very good lectures filled with the Holy Spirit, and more insight than we can deal with...
-2 weeks ago we went to Belfast for a mid-term outreach:
it was a very different experience, the entire city is full of walls, and mural... it was very scary at first, i wouldn't go outside by myself... and the first night i kept on having bad thoughts about things happening, and had a really hard time sleeping, but we prayed a lot for the fear to be taken away, and He was faithful to do so ... on wednesday we went on a 5 hr prayer walk... we went all around Belfast, we walked from the Shankill Rd area , around and up through the city, up to the Parliament Buildings... we prayed into healing for the city, prayed for children in the schools, the division between communities and the churches... it was an amazing experience, and we got some amazing words about the city... we got to spend a little time with the people from the Belfast Base... we did worship with them... it was an amazing time, and God was able to change our hearts towards the community...
-we cleaned up a school, a church, and painted a mural at a school...
my group was on the mural... the group changed a bit every day but we had Mikael, Anna, Korina, Me, Greg, Elise, Ruth, and Blake... it was amazing... we painted a jungle scene, with monkeys, a tiger, a crocodile, and many other crazy creatures... the school really appreciated it, and the kids were very curious to see why we did it... some of us got to run around and play with the kids on their breaks... and when we left the Maintenance guy gave all of us a great big thank you, and chocolates... it was very nice... we all went home feeling like we had actually made a difference in the city...
-we came back to the base, to a long weekend: we had from thursday evening to sunday evening to do whatever we wanted, so we relaxed, watched some movies, and caught up on sleep, well at least i did... hahaha...
-this past week we have had Mike Oman ( our base leader) talk on " The Father Heart of God"- it was a revealing week of facing the realities of fatherhood on earth compared to God, and dealing with a crisis situation: we have been made aware of a crisis in Mozambique:
-PRAY:
The Zambeze river flooded pushing the Mozambique people to become refugees and flee from their homes ... so to answer this call we had, the base is sending a group of staff, and possibly students after DTS to their aid... we need massive amounts of Prayer right now... we are not sure when they will be leaving, but they will need money for flights, food, and supplies for the people... on top of that, all that go will not have time to get required shots to go, so they will face the threat of disease, plus it will be rough conditions, and an amazing act of faith to pull this off.... please pray for those going , and to other YWAM bases already there working... thanks soo much... it is a great relief to have people praying at home...
well thats about where we are right now...
man i miss you guys, these weeks have been stretching me a lot... i am right now working on letting God take things so i dont worry about them... i am working on my weight, and the struggles there in... where am i going to go after DTS, and God has been ever faithful... every time i let him , he gives me just the right verse, or the right person to lift me up...

UPDATE
hello from Shannon here in Closkelt... everyone here says hello...
Thanks to everyone who helped me get here, i have been so blessed through you guys.
Life here on base has been good, but emotional... there has been a lot of change the last couple weeks. We are entering the 6th week and life is fully soaked in change. It seems almost daily right now, not just with me but with others on the base. I have been dealing with my relationship with God(and striving to be more intimate with him: not just daily prayers, but bringing things to him when i need help, in expectation that he will work miracles), not letting problems wrap me up completely, and actually dealing with problems and things i squashed in my past. He is already working to change things in my life, and i am excited to see what he has planned for me.
I am getting involved in the community already: I am on the Girls Brigade team (we help out at a girls bible group, we teach them lessons and games and such). Plus I have helped out with the church, and attend our community church across the road Drumgooland Presbyterian Church. Where the Pastor is really good, and he misses us when we are gone. Im very excited to be a part of the congregation ( it is definitely different than i am used to, with hymns and dressing up, but i love the people,
and hes a good speaker.)
We also took a whole base trip to Tallymore Forest: and spent the afternoon walking around and taking pictures. It was so beautiful, it has very old architecture built right into the forest, and lots of pretty bridges. I will send pics soon for a lot of things when i get them on the computer.
We have been blessed with our community fun nights, every thursday we all get together and have fun. A different group plans each night, and we go and have fun.
1st:we played interactive games
2nd: we played another game
3rd: we dressed up in character and played celebrity Jeopardy, I was
Whitney Houston
4th: We watched The Princess Bride
5th: We had a valentines party
Plus the boys treated all of us girls the day before on Valentines ( they brought all of the girls upstairs to candle light, chocolate, flowers, dessert, with romantic music playing in the background, plus they made us each of us a card saying why they love us. It was probably the best Valentines i have ever had.
Well thats about it for this one, I miss you all... please email me, i would love to here from you.
LECTURES:
2nd week: The Cross
3rd week: Identity
4th week: Relationships
5th week: Reconcilaition
Prayers:
- for a range of illnesses here on base and in our community
- for Anna's knee, she dislocated it two days ago
( it is very swollen, bruised, and painful)
she seems to hurt herself a lot, please pray for strength
- We are still praying for a staff member named Jessica in Canada who
visa is not being approved, so she is stuck there.
- Please pray for strength for the whole group, as we go through
intercession, and the different parts of our past and present that are
being brought up...
- A special prayer for Kevin (he is struggling with leaving his past
behind, and so he is having a hard time dealing with the topics that
are brought here.)
- Pray for continued immersion into the community (especially the
students who have outreaches out of the community).

hey guys, i miss you...
well we just got backfrom this place called YMCA Greenhill: we had fun, a little too windy and cold, but for the most part good.... we did group training... we did orienteering, archery with crazy games like robin hood... we built a raft( out of logs, and rope and barrels, and had to get five people to balance on it- we had to go out in the freezing water , and paddle a bit and turn around cause it was soo windy) and got soo muddy, then freezing when we had to get off the raft in the water... but it was good... we also got to share our testimonies, it was a good time to sit and get to know everyone... we are all getting very close... i already have some best friends,
probably my closest is Anna... we are room mates and really help each other out... i wish i was more longwinded, but i am tired and dirty so i will see you later
* we have many different nationalities here... Some more Canadians... Australia, Minnesota, Isreal, California US, Ireland, Norway, Pensylvania, New Hampshire, and many more...
